An eye specialist with over 30 years experience in vision care invented the NaturaLux™ filters. After listening to countless patients complain of headaches and eyestrain caused by fluorescent lighting, he sought a lasting solution. Before the NaturaLux Filters, optometrists and ophthalmologists could only temporarily relieve the symptoms by prescribing new glasses, sometimes using one of a variety of special tints. Unfortunately, the fluorescent light always managed to get past the glasses and into the eyes. The key to correcting the problem was to do so at its source.
NaturaLux™ Filters achieve three primary functions:
1. They eliminate the glare caused by fluorescent lamps. It does so without sacrificing the proper amount of illumination necessary for visual tasking. A study performed by the Southern California College of Optometry concluded that there was a statistically significant decrease in the frequency of eyestrain and eye fatigue, sensitivity to light, and blur with computer use, among the participants of the study.
2. They color-correct ordinary fluorescent light emitted by fluorescent lamps. As the light passes through our filters, they simulate the same levels of red, orange, yellow, green, blue indigo, and violet found in full-spectrum sunlight. Full spectrum, color-balanced light is used to treat patients with Seasonal Affective Disorder (S.A.D.), and has been found to increase reading and math skills by 21% when made available in classrooms.
3. They absorb 100% of harmful UV radiation emitted by fluorescent lamps. The UV absorbing feature is also designed to extend the life of meats, dairy products, baked goods and produce. By eliminating harmful UV rays, NaturaLux Filters also reduce the fading of fabric colors, such as those in clothing, carpets, drapes, wall coverings and fine wood furniture, making them indispensable for clothing stores, museums, libraries, art collectors, photographers, etc.
